My background includes working in the fields of midwifery, nursing, drug and alcohol counselling, and as a Director of Substance Use and Mental Health in the BC Government, a researcher (with peer-reviewed published articles), and a number of other hats. I am in fact a “high school dropout”; however I have since earned a Nursing degree, a BA, MA and PhD and received a number of scholarships and a fellowship. As well, I am a Registered Psychologist (College of Psychologists of British Columbia #1333) and have participated in extensive advanced training and professional development activities.
